Compressed Air Systems - AIRFORCE

The Airforce range of Compressed Air products provides a high level of respiratory and facial protection with maximum user comfort. The Airforce product must be used in conjunction with the inline filtration unit, which converts most compressed air supplies to a breathable standard.

Filtration Unit

The inline filtration unit, situated between the compressor and the user, removes water, particles and nuisance odours, as well as any oil mist present. Oil mist is particularly dangerous if inhaled and can cause irreparable damage to the lungs.

  • The frame or wall-mounted filtration unit, consisting of a pre-filter and coalescing filter plus an activated charcoal filter, removes liquids, a range of particulate contaminants and odours from the compressed air supplied
  • The charcoal filter changes colour from white to pink to warn the user of excessive contamination, and a charcoal odour filter option on the waistbelt regulator can be used to supplement the filtration unit
  • A quick-release output connector enables either one or two operators to use the filtration unit
  • A pressure guage also visually monitors the pressure achieved.

Common applications for compressed airfed systems include paint spraying, particularly isocyanate 2-pack paints, welding or working in areas of excessive fumes. The low cost of running and maintenance makes Airforce a highly cost-effective system, particularly useful in areas of high concentration of chemicals, where charcoal filters would be quickly saturated.

Air is supplied by means of a lightweight, flexible airline hose, with airflow directed in such a way as to improve wearer comfort and provide mist-free vision. A positive pressure is created which excludes airborne contaminants and provides clean, odour-free air to the user.

  • High level respiratory and facial protection combined with maximum user comfort
  • Used in conjunction with the Airforce in-line filtration unit to convert most compressed air supplies to a breathable standard
  • Particularly suitable for paint spraying, welding or working in areas of excessive fumes
  • Low running and maintenance cost

Airforce Airfed Headpiece

The Airfed Visor uses a flame retardant foam face seal. A fabric face seal is also available as a separate accessory, offering the user a wider personal choice in order to achieve optimum comfort. The headpiece also uses the well renowned Centurion Browguard and Visor system.

  • The compact Airforce Regulator is designed for use with the range of Airforce Compressed Air and Magnum Powered headpieces
  • Features a small low pressure audible warning whistle to warn of insufficient airflow
  • The belt-mounted regulator unit is lightweight, extremely compact and ensures high user acceptance

Fresh-Air Supply Equipment - FRESH-AIR

UNPOWERED FRESH-AIR HOSE SYSTEM

Martindale's unpowered Fresh-Air system is ideal when a worker in a confined or heavily contaminated area needs an uncontaminated air supply. Without the need for motors, filters or batteries, the Fresh-Air system can supply uncontaminated air from an adjacent area.

A twin airhose fitted to a Full Facemask is connected to a waist-mounted coupling. A 9 metre hose is then fitted to the coupling, and an intake strainer with hook and spike at the other end allows the hose to be securely fixed in the clean environment. It is a simple, effective, low-maintenance, low-cost respiratory system.

MINI TURBINE POWERED FRESH-AIR HOSE SYSTEM
Martindale's powered Fresh-Air system allows the wearer to operate in a confined area for longer periods than unpowered equipment permits, or to do heavier tasks, including work in dangerous or toxic areas which may be deficient in oxygen.

Utilising the same Full Facemask, waist-mounted hose coupling and 9 metre hose, as the Unpowered system, the Mini Turbine powered system has a twin hose for fitting on the facemask incorporating an overflow valve to allow excessive air to escape.

The intake strainer at the end of the unpowered hose is removed and attached to the powered Mini Turbine which is then connected to an electrical supply. Alternative powered hoses are available from 10 to 30 metres in length. The Mini Turbine, which can be placed up to 30 metres from the contaminated area, draws air from the immediate vicinity through a coarse, washable sponge filter and delivers air through a hose to one or two users.

  • Enables one or two users to breathe uncontaminated air from a nearby area, while working in a contaminated atmosphere
  • Particularly useful in areas of possible oxygen deficiency such as tanks, trenches or other confined spaces
  • Available Unpowered (easily upgradable to Powered) or as Mini Turbine Powered System

Range includes:
  • low-cost, low-maintenance Unpowered System not requiring motors, filters or batteries
  • Mini Turbine Powered System for heavier workloads or longer duration in contaminated atmosphere
